Ellouise and E. Gordon Minter
The Minters moved to Lake Oswego from Santa Cruz, California, in 1989. Gordon managed a television station, produced commercials, and taught drama until his death in 1994. Ellouise wrote, taught and volunteered wherever she could. She served on the board of the Friends of the Library and taught a class called “Reading to Share” at the Adult Community Center which is still in
existence. Ellouise was an avid reader and Library patron until she passed away at the age of 98.
The Minters’ bequest of over $1.3 million to the Lake Oswego Public Library’s
Endowment Fund in 2006 came as a surprise. Ellouise’s wish was that the Library would continue to enhance the lives of others. We dedicate this Society in honor of Ellouise and E. Gordon Minter’s generous and invaluable
legacy to the Lake Oswego Public Library.
