Also Harriet's brother William COCK (21). Appeared in Kelly's Directory for Kent, 1899 as Alfred Minter, 'King Alfred Inn', Portland Place, Dover. 1901 census: at 1 Portland Place, Dover, Alfred (54, publican), Harriet (51), Charles G (22, barman) and Rose M (17). In 1911, Alfred's widow was living with her married daughter, Rose May MENPES.
