  Notes	Note by Cliff Minter, 22 August 2005: Henry of Preston was born about 1643 - 1644. There are no births or baptisms recorded at Ash between 1641 and 1653. Preston baptisms have not been searched before 1740 or Wingham before 1685. There is no evidence to date to confirm that Henry was the son of Henry and Elizabeth of Ash. In relation to the above, in an email of 14 May 2012 Bill Minter, a member of the Ickham family wrote: "As regards Henry Minter (b 1643 married Katherine Hall), I visited Canterbury Cathedral and although I could not be sure I thought he was probably the son of Henry, b 1610 and Elizabeth, whose details I could not find. That may be wrong of course." Lived at Barham Court, had New Place Farm, Ickham and two tenaments at Littlebourne Street. Gave bond as a yeoman of Preston at the marriage of Thomas Minter at Wingham on 13 October 1677. Described as of Barham in 1714/15. Henry and Katherine may have had another child, Sarah, who was buried on 25 February 1680/81 at Preston next Wingham. From Cliff Minter: tombstone in Barham reads: Here lieth the body of Henry Minter late of this parish He died 21 December 1720 age 76 years left surviving 4 sons and 1 daughter. Will proved May 1721 at Canterbury Archdeaconry Court.
