  Notes	From findagrave.com: Father Simeon Richards Mother Martha Ellen Richards The following was copied from findagrave.com in December 2021: Martha, more often known as Mattie, was named in honor of her mother and her aunt, Priscilla Holland (Bell) Sharp. Her parents moved to Brownstown, Jackson Co, IN where she & her older brother, Riley Edward, were born in Ohio Township. On June 4, 1880, Mattie was shown as an unnamed female, age one month, living in Ohio Township, Bartholomew Co, IN with her parents, Simeon & Martha Richards, ages 36 & 29. Her siblings were Herod, age 8, and Riley E., 2. Her father was farming to support the family. Her parents moved back to Clifton City, Cooper Co, MO and on October 2, 1882, her mother gave birth to her sister, Artie Messie. Another sister, Hiley Jane, was born on December 7, 1884. Almost nine years after Hiley was born, her mother gave birth to her brother, Epsey Howlett, on February 25, 1893. Her brother, Herod, married Eva Lucy Risher on December 21, 1899; her brother, Riley, married the following year. On June 13, 1900, Mattie, age 20, lived with her parents in Otterville Township, Cooper Co, MO; her father was 56, her mother, 50. They had been married 28 years. Her siblings still at home were Artie B., age 17; Hiley J., 15 & Epsey H., 7. Herod & Riley lived with their wives on adjacent farms in Heath Creek Township, Pettis Co, MO. Mattie gave birth to Lenora E. Richard in 1906. Mattie married Charles Homer Minter were married in Bartlesville, Washington Co, OK on Jan. 18, 1908. On May 6, 1910, Charles H. & Mattie H. Minter, ages 31 & 29, were renting a home in Jackson, Washington Co, OK. They had been married two years; this was his first marriage, her second marriage. Mattie had given birth to 2 children, but only one was living. Her daughter from her first marriage, Leona E. Richard, age 4, was listed as Charles's step-daughter. Charles has a job as an oil field laborer. Charles Homer (age 34) & Mattie Holland Minter were living in Osage Co, OK where he was farming for himself when he registered for the WWI draft on Sept. 12, 1918. He was described as medium build and height with blue eyes & dark hair. Later records showed that he didn't serve in the war. In March 1920, Charles & Mattie, ages 41 & 39, were renting a home in Strike Axe, Osage Co, OK where he was an oil field worker. Members of the household were her daughter, Lenora, age 14, and their two daughters, Georgie and Catherine, ages 9 & 6. On April 10, 1930, Charles H. & Mattie H., ages 51 & 49, were renting a home in Bartlesville, Washington Co, OK for $6/month. He had a job as a painter. Their daughters living with them were Georgia I. & Catherine, ages 19 & 16. Mattie & Charles were divorced sometime before the following Federal Census was taken. In April 1940, Mattie, age 59, was renting a home in Jefferson, Washington Co, OK. She was shown as widowed. Her granddaughter, Patty Littlejohn, age 4, lived with her. In April 1940 Her husband, Charles H., age 61, was also was renting a home in Bartlesville, Washington Co, OK where he had a job as a Contractor. He indicated that he was divorced. Francis J. Gibbons, age 63, his business partner lived with him. ----- Mattie was in the Forrest Nursing home in Bartlesville when she died from a Coronary Thrombosis on December 18, 1962. "Mrs. Minter Dies; Services Set Here Friday Mrs. Mattie Minter, 82, pioneer resident of the Bartlesville-Dewey community died Tuesday noon in a Bartlesville Nursing home. She had been in failing health for the past three months. Mrs. Minter was born May 20, 1880 at Brownstown, Ind., where she attended school and when a young girl, moved with her parents to Lincoln, Mo., where she completed her education. She and the late Charles H. Minter were married on Jan. 18, 1908, in Bartlesville. He was active as a painter-decorator here prior to his death in 1953. Since that time Mrs. Minter has continued to make her home in Bartlesville and in Dewey. She was a member of the Dewey First Christian Church. Survivors incled three daughters, Mrs. Maxine Brenner, of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. E.R. Hinkle, 229 S. E. Waverly, Bartlesville, and Mrs. Guy Laughlin of Ramona; one brother, Riley Richards, of Sedalia., Mo., two sisters, Miss Hiley Richards, also of Sedalia and Mrs. Artie Lindley of El Dorado Springs, Mo.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Arnold Moore Funeral residence chapel. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery."
