The death was registered by Mary Minter, present at the death, in Stockton Registration District, Hartlepool, County of Durham. 1851 census: in Hartlepool, Mary (37(?), widow, pauper (seamstress)), Alice (10), George (8) and James (4). 1861 census: a Mary (41, born "Thorplesham", Essex) was a cook at 8 Chester Place, St Pancras, London. 1871 census: not found In 1881 and 1891, Mary was with her son George (qv).
