| Notes |
- 1891 census: at 18 Oakham Street, Chelsea, John (24, general dealer), Jane (24), Johanna (4), Charles (7 months) and a servant, 17, Anna MINTER - no indication of who she was.
June 2014: Westminster burials at findmypast.co.uk indicate that John and Jane had two children previously not included:
1. On 22 August 1889 a stillborn Minter of 18 Oakham Street, Chelsea was buried in Hanwell Cemetery, London. I haven't included this child in the list of John & Jane's children.
2. William George Minter's birth was registered in Q2 1899 and his death in the same quarter. His burial, as William Minter aged 3 weeks, took place at Hanwell Cemetery on 5 June 1899. His address was shown as 30 Oakham Street, Chelsea.
1901 census: at 8 Ives Street, Chelsea, John (34, general labourer), Ann (33), Jennie (13) [presumably Johanna], John (7), Elizabeth (5), Jane (3) and Esther (10 months).
It's suspected that in 1901 "Ann" was a mistake for Jane.
1911 census: at 89 Leader Street, Chelsea, London (4 rooms), Mr John (head, 48, married, general dealer, born Chelsea), Mrs Jane (wife, 44 married 27 years, 7 children all living *, born Chelsea), Johanna (daughter, 23, married 1 month(?), born Chelsea), Lizy (daughter, 16, single, born Chelsea), Jane (daughter, 14, born Chelsea), Ester (daughter, 11, school, born Chelsea), George (son, 9, school, born Chelsea), Patrick (son, 6, school, born Chelsea) and Annie (daughter, 4, born Chelsea).
* Charles (1890 - 92) seems to have been forgotten; and John (1894) * isn't mentioned.
Form signed Mr J Minter.
* John probably died in 1905.
The couple do not seem to have registered the birth of any of their children except Johanna. Anna Maria was baptised a Catholic.
