| Notes |
- 1911 census: may have been, as Charles William Minter, a window cleaner, aged 33, single, born Rotherhithe, at Queen Anne's Mansions, St James Park, Westminster, London SW. But why the 'William' if it was him?
Feb 2011: the following entry appears in the index of the Thiepval Memorial (at Ancestry.co.uk):
Minter, Pte. Charles William, 5235. !st/13th Kensington Bn. London Regt. 8th Oct., 1916. Age 38. Son of Mr and Mrs Minter of 95 Rotherhithe New Road, London.
This seems likely to refer to Charles although it again includes the name 'William' and the address of his parents is not as it was at the 1911 census. However, since no other trace (marriage or death) of Charles (William) has been found it's assumed that Charles died in WW1.
