      Died on 18 October 2011 aged 88. Known as Mr Bon Marche, Eastney. His obituary (published in the Portsmouth News Group on 24 October) includes these words:
      Loving husband to Sylvia, father to Sue and Angela, stepfather to Steven, Ivan and Simon and a wonderful caring grandfather and great-grandfather, will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
