Curtis Lee Dillon, 78, of 214 Rosewood Ave., died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
He was born May 8, 1926, to Annie Wyatt Hall Dillon and Harvel T. "H.T." Dillon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dwight Lynwood Dillon, and a granddaughter, Rachel Young.
He retired from DuPont with 32 years and 10 months of service. He was a World War II Army veteran.
He was a member of Chatham Heights Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, an Adult Sunday school teacher, an usher and a counting committee member.
He attended three years at Danville Technical Institution. He was a member of United Commercial Travel and the American Legion.
Surviving are his wife of 56 1/2 years, Mary Louise Dillon of the home; a son, Ronald Lee Dillon of Virginia Beach; two daughters, Patricia Dillon Young of Richmond and Linda Dillon Gorris of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; one brother, Aubrey H. Dillon of Martinsville; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home. The Rev. David Cameron will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
