  Notes	findagrave.com: "Ruth Brooks Minter, 89, of Martinsville, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, at Blue Ridge Rehab Center in Martinsville. She was born Oct. 25, 1921, in Franklin County to Joseph A. Brooks and Jimmie David Brooks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Philmore G. Minter; a son, Donald Barry Minter; five sisters, Mary Brooks, Mattie Cundiff, Stella Brooks, Effie Holland and Sallie Kate Brooks Brown; nine brothers, John Brooks, James Brooks, Morris Brooks, Fred Brooks, Albert Brooks, Paul Brooks, Glenn Brooks, Roosevelt Brooks and Posey Brooks. Ruth graduated with honors from Glade Hill High School. She was one of the first people to work at DuPont and worked in the PT lab for seven years; was a salesperson for Singer Sewing Co.; worked six years at Pannill Knitting Co.; and worked several years with the professional nurses exchange. Minter was a member of Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church and had been a member of Bethel Primitive Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, Elder David P. Minter; two grandsons; one great-grandson; and three sisters, Doris Ferguson of Rocky Mount, Cecil Brown of Collinsville and Dorothy Sink of Rocky Mount. The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Bassett Funeral Service with Elder David P. Minter and John David Minter officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour before the service Thursday at the funeral home."
