  Notes	January 2008: although the marriage certificate gives his age as 32, implying a birth year of 1892/93, the marriage on 9 April 1925 between Arthur Minter and Flossie Harris is assumed to relate to Arthur of Boxted. The certificate names Arthur's father as James Minter (deceased), farmer: James of 1853 was an agricultural labourer, which could at a stretch mean farmer. Arthur joined the 6th (Cyclist) Bn., Royal Sussex Regiment on 10 December 1915. He was 25 years 4 months old, a draper's porter of 20 Goldney Road, Paddington, London. Next of kin Sarah Minter (mother) 2 Mill Road, Boxted, Colchester, Essex. Private no. 73419. Served in France in 1916 and 1917 and was shot in the shoulder. 1921 census: Arthur MINTER (30y 10m, single, born Boxted, Essex, bus conductor with Clacton & District Motor Services, Jackson Road, Clacton-on-Sea).was at 5, Ricebridge Cottages, Thorpe Road, Little Clacton, Essex with his brother Charles and his family. 1939 Register (1) - at 108 Vista Road , Clacton U.D., Essex Minter, Arthur born 16 Aug 1891, married, swimming pool plant engineer pier attendant Minter, Flossie born 16 Jan 1891 state registered nurse QMB (part time only) The date of birth for Arthur doesn't tally with other information. 1939 Register (2) - at the National Childrens Home, Old Alresford, Hampshire Minter, Henry E(sic) born 3 May 1931, inmate.
