| Notes |
- Living at Horsleydown Lane, Southwark in 1841, a mariner with parents.
1851 census: at 5 Cross Street, St Johns Horsleydown, Southwark, Matilda (wife, married, 22). Edward was presumably at sea.
www.bargemen.co.uk/pdf/bum_boat.pdf has a transcription of a Watermen's Bum boat book in which there is an entry, dated 17 April 1854, for an Edward Minter, aged 35 of 7 Freeschool Street, Horsleydown, owner of a boat/skiff called the Ann. It's not clear whether this entry relates to this Edward Minter but it seems likely.
1861 census: at 91 George Row, St Marys Bermondsey, Matilda A (wife, married, 30, dressmaker), Ann M (7, scholar) and Emily M (1)
Edward and Matilda were at 91 George Row when son William was baptised in August 1862. Ditto son James in 1869 - Edward a mariner.
1871 census: at 91 George Row, St Marys Bermondsey, Edward (52, widower, mariner), Ann (17, machinist), Emily M (12, scholar), Henry J (7, scholar) and James T (2). Also Ann DEARMAN (grandmother, widow, 70, childs school teacher, born Hammersmith).
