She was born August 13, 1932, in Martinsville to the late Dorsey Eugene and Elizabeth Simmons Eggleston Minter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years; William (Billy) Joe Meadows, sister; Lucy Dolores "Lois" Young, nephew; Bradley Todd Cochran, and great-grandson; Quentin Alan Redd. Surviving are three daughters; Kathryn (Kaye) Elizabeth Lawson (husband Jerry), Susan Gayle Dove (husband Wayne), of Martinsville, Marlene Denise Gilley (husband Rick), of Henry, Virginia, one grandson; Wade Matthew Dove, two step-granddaughters; Nichole Leigh Redd (husband Chris) of Stuart, Virginia and ReVonda Michelle Gilley of North Carolina, and four step-great-grandchildren; Kayla Nichole Redd, Cameron Alan Redd, Savannah Nichole Halbrook, Tyler Wayne Carr, and Kayra Shawn Carr A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 12:30 pm located at Chatham Heights Baptist Church, Martinsville. Family visitation will immediately follow the memorial service. Interment will be private at Roselawn Burial Park. Officiating will be Reverend Dr. Michael Hatfield. Memorials may be made to the Chatham Heights Baptist Church: 1235 Chatham Heights Martinsville, Virginia 24112-2121 or the charity of your choice.
