  Notes	Educated at Aske's Haberdashers School, New Cross. London. Left school against parents' wishes to take up apprenticeship with butcher at New Cross but had to give this up after one year to attend to family business upon father's breakdown in health. Left family business after disagreement with brother and obtained appointment with Hay's Wharf (Cartage Dept.) on 27 October 1899. Created separate meat carrying department of Hay's Wharf Cartage Co. of which he became manager. Retired in 1934 but worked with UK Meat Transport Organisation during the second world war. Served on Broadstairs and St Peters Urban District Council between 1928 and 1943; became chairman 1936 - 37. 1901 census: at 8 Ennersdale Road, Lewisham, London, Ebenezer K (27, cartage foreman), Ada K (29), Kirkham S (6) and Harold F (1). 1911 census: at 211 Hither Green Lane, Lewisham SE London (6 rooms), Ebenezer Kirkham (head, 37, married, market representative, employed, born St Marys Walthamstow), Ada Eliza (wife, 39, married 17 years, 2 children both living, born St Pauls Deptford), Kirkham Sidney (son, 16, single, boy civil service clerk, born St Pauls Deptford), Harold Filmer (son, 11, school boy, born St Pauls Deptford) and a servant, Sarah Emma COLE, 55, single, born St Saviours Southwark. Form signed Ebenezer Kirkham Minter. The London Gazette of 28 November 1913 records that Ebenezer Kirkham Minter was about to be registered as Proprietor of a leasehold Dwelling-house and garden, 20, Octavius Street, St Paul Deptford. His address was 211, Hither Green Lane, Lewisham, S.E.; a market representative. 1921 census: at Aylsham Cottage Hillcrest Road, Biggin Hill, Cudham, Kent (both MINTER), Ebenezer Kirkham (head, 47y 3m, married, transport manager, Hays Wharf Cartage Coy Ltd, 66 Long Lane, W Smithfield, London, born Walthamstow, Essex) and Ada Eliza (wife, 49y 6m, born Bush Rd, Rotherhithe, household duties). The Times (London, England), Friday, Oct 31, 1930; pg. 17; Issue 45658 records that Mr E K Minter (Manager, Hays Wharf Cartage Company, Limited) was among those attending a memorial service on 30 October 1930 at Whitefield's Central Mission, Tottenham Court Road, London for Mr Harry Gosling MP.
