He married Lydia Bell (Cason) Johnson (1898-1940) and they had one daughter, Oleta Johnson Jones (1918-1996). He worked in the oilfields. After the death of Bell, he married Esther Minter Bracchi. He was a loving father and grandfather. He loved whiskey and a good cigar and saved the rings for his grandchildren.
