- 1841 census: in Boxted with wife Anne (35) and children John (Ag. lab. 20), James (Ag lab, 15), William (13), Amos (10) and Ann (6). Occupation Ag. lab. Youngest 3 children said to have been born outside Essex: possibly in Nayland, Suffolk - there are IGI records for:
Ann Minter, bap 5 Oct 1834 at Nayland, father John mother Ann.
William MINTERS (sic), bap 5 Nov 1826 at Nayland, father John MINTERS, mother Ann.
There's no IGI record for Amos but his baptism appears in findmypast.co.uk's version of the Suffolk Baptism index - baptised on 4 October 1829 at Nayland.
1851 census: John, 56, married, ag lab, lived in Boxted. The preceding entry on the census page is for Edward Minter, 86, John's father. John's wife Deborah (59, a nurse, born in Stoke by Nayland, Suffolk) was also living in Boxted but not at the same address when the census was done.
1861 census: John (66, ag lab, born Boxted) and Deborah (69, born Boxted (sic - she was actually born in Stoke by Nayland)) lived in Boxted with Harriet KING (44, born Great Horkesley) and granddaughter Miriam KING (4, born Boxted).
Harriet KING was Deborah's daughter from her first marriage.
Buried aged 78 of Boxted.
