| Notes |
- Parents per baptismal register: Joseph & Amelia MUMFORD.
1861 census: at the Half Moon Public House, Lower Road, Islington, London (both MUMFORD), Richard (head, 31, victualler, born Cambridgeshire) and Martha (wife, 26, born Essex). Also a barmaid, Emma WATSON (18), a barman, Chas WEBB (29) and a cook, Mary Ann CUSTIN(?) (0).
1871 census (found at familysearch.org, not ancestry.com): in Islington, London (all MUMFORD), Richard (head, 41, licensed victualler, born Ickleton,Cambridgeshire), Elizabeth R (wife, 35, born St Lukes, Middlesex) and Roberta* (daughter, 9, born Islington). Also William HILL (nephew, 19, grocer, born Islington),George BRUCE (23, potman, born Scotland) and Kate CARPENTER (20, domestic servant).
* there's no image of the census page at familysearch so I haven't been able to check this name. I haven't found a birth registration of a Roberta MUMFORD and so I think the entry actually related to Martha Millicent, who would have been 9 at the 1871 census.
1881 census: at 84 Essex Road, Islington, London (all MUMFORD), Richard (head, 51, licensed victualler, born Cambridgeshire), Elizabeth R (wife, 45, born St Lukes, London), Martha M (daughter, 19, born Middlesex), Hannah (sister-in-law, widow, 57, independent, born Suffolk) and Sarah (niece, 18, barmaid, born Cambridgeshire). Also a barman and a general servant.
1891 census: at 84 Essex Road, Islington, London (all MUMFORD), Richard (head, 61, licensed victualler, born Cambridgeshire), Elizabeth R (wife, 55, born London) and Alice S* (daughter, 23, born London). Also a number of visitors and servants.
* Alice Sophia was born in 1867 but I haven't found her in the 1871 or 1881 censuses or subsequently.
1901 census:in Abbey Street, Ickleton, Cambridgeshire (all MUMFORD), Richard (head, 71, living on own means, born Ickleton, Cambridgeshire), Elizabeth (wife, 64, born London, City Road, feeble minded), Millicent JONES (daughter, widow, 36, born Islington, London), Margaret JONES (granddaughter, 10, born Islington, London) and Millicent JONES (granddaughter, 9, born Islington, London). Also a general domestic servant, Elizabeth WASKETT (26, single).
