Appeared in the Directory of Kent, Melville & Co, 1858 as a Trader, William Minter, Royal Oak Tap, Harbour Place, Ramsgate. 1861 census: at The Oak Tap, Goldsmith Place, Ramsgate, William (50, licensed victualler), Sarah (41?), Charlotte (4), Sarah L (2) and Emily (8 months). 1871 census: at West Dumpton, St Lawrence, William (60, market gardener), Sarah (49), Elizabeth (14) and Emily (10, scholar). Appeared in Kelly's Directory of Kent, 1878 as William Minter, West Dumpton, St Lawrence, Ramsgate. 1881 census: at West Dumpton, St Lawrence, William (70, market gardener) and Sarah (59) 1891 census: at Paragon Cottage, Ramsgate, Sarah (67, lady, widow). Melville & Co 1895 Directory, Ramsgate lists Mrs Minter, 1 Paragon Place, Ramsgate; 1899 Ramsgate and St Lawrence Directory includes Mrs Minter, 1 Paragon Place, Paragon Street, West Cliff, Ramsgate. 1901 census: living with daughter Elizabeth and son-in-law Henry Hope Minter (qv). Tombstone at St George Ramsgate: Sacred to the memory of Marie Lucy wife of William Minter who departed this life on the 24th August 1854 age 32 years Also of Lucy Maria daughter of the above who departed this life on the 25th August 1854 age 5 years and 3 months Also of Sarah Lucy daughter of the above William and Sarah Minter who departed this life on the 20 February 1862 aged 3 years and 5 months Also of the above William Minter who died 2 December 1881 aged 73 years Also of Sarah wife of the above William Minter who died 2 April 1903 aged 79 years.
