    Notes
    • Mary Ann was baptised as 'daughter of Martha Branchett, Boughton, singlewoman'.

When she married she gave her father's name as Stephen Minter, blacksmith. It seems likely that Stephen 'adopted' Mary Ann in the 1850s - she appeared as the daughter of Willialm Minter in the 1851 census but as the daughter of Stephen Minter in the 1861 census.

September 2010: Christine Small, using information from another source, has Mary Ann's death as 13 May 1881 in Kilrush, County Clare, Ireland.
Later: the 'other source' was Murray Smith who has now provided a copy of the death certificate. It shows that Mary Ann died age 38 of consumption (of 7 months). The informant was Thomas, who was present at the death.
