  Notes	Sophia's existence as Henry and Catherine's daughter was originally inferred from the fact that she witnessed (sister) Elizabeth's marriage. Since then her birth certificate has been obtained: Translation of birth certificate provided by Jackie Lefranc, November 2011: On this day 12th January 1849 at 1 p.m. Henry Teetgen MINTER 32, hotelier in this town, 2 Quai de Ie Flotille came before us the undersigned,deputy mayor of Boulogne sur mer to declare his wife Catherine GREENFIELD 28, gave birth to a female child yesterday at 10 a.m at their home and they wish to name her SOPHIA BENNETT. The said declaration and presentation of the child was witnessed by the father's friends Michel SCALES 60, ex magistrate and Robert DOWELL 32 .hotel commission-agent and both residents ot this town. After the reading the father and witnesses signed the declaration. Details of Sophia's marriage do not appear in the London Metropolitan Archives at Ancestry.co.uk as far as I can see (October 2009). 1871 census: at 55 Conduit Street, St George Hanover Square, London, Sophia (assistant, 22, milliner's assistant, born France (British subject). She was evidently an assistant to the wife of the head of the household, Sarah Reynolds (39, born Colchester, Essex), whose occupation was court milliner.
