  Notes	1841 census: in Capel St Andrew, Suffolk, (all STEBBINGS), James (35, farmer), Sarah (40), Herbert (14), John (12), Hannah (10), Caroline (8), Sarah (7), James (3) and Samuel (8 months). All born Suffolk. From the IGI it appears that Herbert, John, Hannah, Caroline and Sarah Ann were all baptised on 4 June 1837. The IGI doesn't have baptisms for James and Samuel. 1851 census: in Capel St Andrew, Suffolk, (all STEBBING), James (48, farmer 64 acres, 2 labours & son & 2 labour after Copsolete(?), born Butley), Sarah (50, born Chillesford), John (22, born Capel), Sarah Ann (16, born Capel), James (13, born Capel) and Samuel (10, born Capel). Also a lodger(?), Jimima HOWARD. 1861 census: in Capel Green Houses, Capel St Andrew, Suffolk, (all STEBBING), James (58, farmer 73 acres, 3 men 1 boy, born Capel), Sarah (60, born Chillesford), Sarah Ann (25, farmers daughter, born Capel), John S (grandson, 4, scholar, born Capel). Also a servant Jemima HOWARD. A John STEBBING (32, cattle dealer, born Capel) and his wife Caroline (20) and daughter Sarah E (8) were listed next - presumably James's son. John married Caroline WEBB in Q4 1852 (Plomesgate 4a/1347). Son James married Elizabeth MINTER in Q4 1857 (Woodbridge 4a/1267). Daughter Sarah Ann married David MINTER in Q2 1866 (Plomesgate 4a/987). 1871 census: in Capel Green , Capel St Andrew, Suffolk, (both STEBBING), James (68, farmer 72½ acres, 3 men 1 boy, born Capel St Andrew) and Sarah (71, born Capel St Andrew). Also James SMITH (grandson, 5, born London) and a general servant Amelia COOPER (16). James died in 1872. 1881 census: in a cottage in Capel St Andrew, Suffolk, (both STEBBING), Sarah (head, widow, 81, farmer of 72 acres, born Chillesford, Suffolk) and Caroline (daughter, 48, born Capel St Andrew). 1891 census: in Capel Green, Capel St Andrew, Suffolk, (both STEBBING), Sarah (head, widow, 91, farmer, born Chillesford, Suffolk) and Caroline (daughter, 57, born Capel St Andrew). Caroline's death was registered in Q1 1893, Sarah's in Q1 1895.
