But there was a Jane King, aged 14, born in Peldon, living with her parents at the time of the 1851 census, and no sign of her in 1861, unless she married Thomas Peachey and appeared as follows: 1861 census (indexed as recorded as PEACHE): at 11 Knights Lane, East Langham, Essex, Thomas (24, ag lab, born Great Horkesley, Essex) and Jane (24, housewife, born Peldon, Essex). 1871 census(indexed as recorded as PEACHE): at Bone Barn, West Bergholt, Essex, Thomas (33, farm bailiff, born Great Horkesley, Essex), Jane (33, born Peldon, Essex) and Lucy (visitor, widow, 66, born Great Horkesley, Essex). Lucy must have been Thomas's widowed mother. 1881 census: in White Hart Lane, West Bergholt, Essex, Thomas (44, pork butcher & general grocer, born Great Horkesley, Essex) and Jane (43, born Peldon, Essex).
