Minter, 75, well-known Henry county woman who passed away Tuesday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. J. R. Byrd, Maple street following several weeks illness, were held from Church Street Primitive Baptist church this afternoon. The remains were ten taken to the Minter Burial Grounds near Leatherwood for interment. Funeral services for Mrs. Silas J. Minter, 75 life-long Henry county woman, were held Wednesday afternoon at Church Street P:rimitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Minter passed away Tuesday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. L. M. Byrd on Maple street. The remains were then carried to the Minter family burial ground near Leatherwood where interment was made. The deceased, who spent her entire life in Henry county, was before her marriage Lucinda V. Thomasson, born on August 5, 1859. She was united in marriage to Silas J. Minter on July 1, 1883. To this union was born eight children, five sons and three daughters, as follows: Edward F., Harvey E., Irvin S., W. Owen and Hassie Minter; Mesdames Lewis M. Byrd, W. J. Donovant and H. L. Dove, all of this city. Three sisters, Mesdames J. L. Hairfield and E. J. Wyatt of Winston-Salem, and D. T. Minter, of near this city also survive. Active pallbearers were grand-sons of the deceased: R. E. Byrd, Daily Byrd, Eugene Minter, Fletcher Minter, Clarence Donovant and Clifford Dove. Flower bearers were the following granddaughters: Mesdames Walter East, Daily Byrd, Eugene Minter, George Moore Jr., Gene Byrd; Misses Ivy Minter, Victoria Minter, Bessie Minter, Ray Minter, Gladys Donovant, Mildred Dove and others.
