| Notes |
- From findagrave.com:
Emogene was the baby of the family, following brothers: Awyer and Dennis; and sisters: Jenny and Ruth. The family worked the land in Texas, before moving on to New Mexico, and California. Emogene loved school, graduating from a Kennicott Mining company secondary school in 1945.
However, she missed her graduation ceremony because of a young sailor named Milton Anderson, who swooped her up and married her in May 1945 (or as one of mom's classmates at the graduation ceremony said, noting her absence, "the Navy got her").
Emogene and Milton made a life together bringing into the world their daughters: Shar; Bonnie; Sue; and son, Robbie. Emogene was forever busy raising her family, working outside the home, tending to her beautiful yard, and expressing her creative side. She could make any craft she set her mind to making, most recently bejeweled critters known as Christmas Spiders.
Upon retiring from Uarco, her yard became her full-time passion and was admired and envied by all. Emogene's sense of humor was ever present, and was on display only a few hours before her passing. She was a member of the Church of Christ and her strong faith was displayed daily in her compassionate, caring, and kind soul, full of love for not only her own family, but for the family of mankind.
Emogene is survived by her children; her sister, Ruth; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
We will miss you, Mom, but you will live on in us, your kids, and in those whose lives you touched.
The family would like to give a special thank you to: Amedisys Hospice, Garden Valley Retirement Center, Dr. Angela Jones, and Taylor's Family Chapel for all their support and care.
A celebration of life for Emogene will be held in the Umpqua Room at Roseburg's Windmill Inn on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 1p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, 15825 Shady Grove Rd. Suite 140, Rockville, Maryland 20850-4022 in Emogene's name.
