Next entry is for Ray Minter (Emma's son) and his family and 3 of Emma's children. 1940 United States Federal Census: Emma (73) lived with son Enoch (qv). 1950 United States Federal Census: in Odessa, Ector, Texas Levicy E MINTER (84, widow, born Georgia) was living with son Herman and his sister Frankie M.. The following was posted on an ancestry.com message board by lisacox1961 on 15 Feb 2012: "... I wanted to let you know that David Chapman Minter died May 22, 1902 in Carthage, Panola, Texas, USA. He is my 2nd great grandfather. Charles Chapman Minter was my great grandfather. He died in Ranger, Texas and is buried in an unknown grave. The story told to me by cousin, Talmadge Minter, was that Charles worked for a man who owned a lot of land in Ranger. Because of the oil boom lots of families were moving into that area and had no place to stay. Charles' boss put him in charge of renting spaces of land but soon after, Charles became really sick with his gall bladder. When the doctor arrived to his home he immediately placed Charles on the kitchen table and began to operate. Something went wrong and he died. The family had no money to bury him so he was left on the table for several days until a friend heard and paid for his burial."
