  Notes	1871 census: in Streatley, Bedfordshire (all BRIGHTMAN, born Streatley except for Emma), George (head, 30, ag lab), Emma (wife, 26, born Tebworth, Beds), Sarah A (daughter, 8, scholar), George (son, 7, scholar), Walter (son, 4, scholar) and Frederick (son, 1). 1881 census: in Streatley, Bedfordshire (all BRIGHTMAN, born Streatley except for Emma), George (head, 42, ag lab), Emma (wife, 38, born Tebworth, Beds), Sarah Ann (daughter, 18, straw hat finisher), George (son, 17, ag lab), Walter (son, 14, ag lab), Frederick (son, 11, scholar), Mary (daughter, 7, scholar), Lily (daughter, 4, scholar), John (son, 3) and Kate (daughter, 11 months). Following George's death in Q4 1883, his widow Emma had their last child in Q2 1884 and sometime afterwards emigrated to Australia. I've been unable to find a record of when she left and which children went with her, but have found that sons George, Walter and Frederick (aged 22, 19 and 17 respectively) left London on 7 April 1886 on the SS Dorunda, arriving at Brisbane on 2 June 1886. They travelled as Assisted passengers. The ship's manifest containing this information is online at the Queensland State Archives/Assisted immigration 1848 to 1912.
