Notes	August 2026: Meryl Stanton (nee Peck) emailed to say that Robert William Peck married Susanna Clark Holman, not Margaret Holman as I had it. Meryl also provided details of Robert and Susanna's two children. Meryl added that her evidence comes "from the Peck family bible, which records the marriage in its handwritten family records pages.". I've put the record straight. 1861 census: in Upper Sandgate Road, Folkestone, Kent, Robert W PECK (head, 39, solicitor, born Newmarket, Suffolk), Susan C PECK (wife, 29, born Folkestone, Kent), Robert H PECK (son, 6, scholar, born Fairfield, Lancashire) and Emily H PECK (daughter, 5, scholar, born Fairfield, Lancashire). Also a cook, Susan B THURBAN, and a housemaid, Lydia WILSON. Robert died before the next census. 1871 census: at 3 Albion Villas, Folkestone, Kent, Susanna C PECK (head, widow, 39, annuitant, born Folkestone, Kent) and Emily H PECK (daughter, 15, born Fairfield, Lancashire). Also a parlour maid, a cook, a housemaid and a governess.
