Charlotte must have returned fairly soon, she appeared in the 1891 census: 1891 census: Charlotte L ULBRICHT (14, born Charlton, Kent) was living at 51 Northbourn Street, Gateshead, Durham as the niece of William GREGORY (31, newspaper reporter, born Ripon, Yorkshire) and his wife Mary A GREGORY (29, born Washbrook, Suffolk) and their son Frederick E GREGORY (4). 1901 Census of Canada (indexed and recorded as ULBIRICHT): in Owen Sound, Grey, Ontario, "Charlote L ULBIRICHT" (boarder, born 4 Feb 1878, age 23, born England, immigrated 1891, photographer). Head of the household was Mary WOODS (born 14 June 1862 in England).
