| Notes |
- From William's service record at ancestry.com:
William was a postman, aged 23 when he signed on on 5 October 1914 at Denham. He was discharged from the Labour Corps on 14 March 1919 at age 27, married, of Mill View, Thorington near Colchester. His application for a service pension on grounds of nervous debility and rheumatism was refused as not being attributable to his army service. His next-of-kin was his mother Elizabeth Mary Minter of 27 Hurst Green, Brightlingsea. The record includes details of a marriage on 23 February 1916 to Beatrice May Strange, at Andover and the birth of Dora Lily May on 15 November 1916 at Andover. On another document William's wife's address is given as 80 High Street, Andover, Hants.
Another document gives William's wife as Beatrice May, Bank Farm, Vernham Dean, .... [Vernham Dean is in Hampshire].

Ancestry's New York, Passenger Lists, 1820-1957 (found by James Earley, Feb 2013) has the list of passengers and crew on the 'Majestic' which left Southampton on 13 April and arrived at New York on 19 April 1932. It includes as passengers:
William Charles Minter, 43, married, manservant born Brightlingsea, last address Norwich
William Ernest LAMB, 49, single, manservant born Brightlingsea, last address Brightlingsea
Bertie James LAMB, 39, married, manservant born Brightlingsea, last address Southend
Eleanor Hannah LAMB, 35, married, maid born London, last address Southend
The passports of all four were issued in Paris on 14 Jan 1932.
William and Ernest LAMB were brothers; Eleanor was Bertie's wife. There's no known connection between the Minter and Lamb families but both originated and lived in Brightlingsea and must have known each other.
There's no indication of why all four were on the same ship to New York but the fact that they were all servants with passports issued on the same day might suggest they were travelling as servants of someone also on the ship.
