Form signed Thomas Whittles Thornborrow. May 2010: Thomas's grandson Keith writes: "Rumor has it that grandfather Tom, invested family funds into a Gramaphone venture but the style or some such think did not really take off and the family suffered losses ..... I have nothing to prove any of this....... But he did pack up his young family, consisting of wife Kate and three young boys John 1906-2006 , Bernard 1907-1996 & Fredrick 1909-2001 and departed England at Liverpool and arrived in Hamilton Ontario Canada Oct. 31 1912..... Kate & Tom lost their forth son Donald in July of 1911 and that may have played into the move as well..." Keith has provided a copy of the manifest of the 'Corsican', an Allan Line ship which departed from Liverpool for Quebec on 18 October 1912. It lists the Thornborrow family: Thomas, carpenter, 31 Kathleen, housewife, 28 John, child, 6 Bernard, child, 5 Frederick, child, 3.
