  Notes	From findagrave.com, May 2015: Mrs. Carrie Lea Bennett, age 85, of Crockett, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in the East Texas Medical Center-Crockett. She was born October 21, 1925 in Belott, Texas and had lived in Crockett most of her lifetime. Mrs. Bennett was a member of the Phythian Sisters in Crockett. She was retired from nursing after 50 years of service. Mrs. Bennett loved watching hummingbirds, enjoyed reading and cooking for her family. Survivors include sons, Kenneth Bennett and wife, Carla of Slidell, Louisiana, Larry Bennett and wife, Mira of Crockett; daughter, Sue Strban and husband, Steve of Crockett; grandchildren, Steve Lynn Strban of Crockett, Kris Bennett of Crockett, Kevin Bennett of Shreveport, Louisiana, Loren and Brian Faust of Slidell, Louisiana, Kimberly and Randy Duhon of Grapeland, Jake and Yi Jia Chen Rutherford of China, Jacey Rutherford of Slidell, Louisiana, Stanley Freeman of Oscodo, Michigan , Nathan Freeman of Houston, Chad and Lea Freeman of Dallas; ten great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, L. C. Bennett; parents, Grover and Nora Bell Minter; brothers, Grover Minter, Jr. and Wendall Minter; and sisters, Berta Nell Gilbert, Nora Bell Minter and Betty Sue LaRue. Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Lea Bennett will be held Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Randy Shipman officiating. Interment will follow in the Weches Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday evening 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
