  Notes	From findagrave.com: CONCORD - Martha Minter McAllister, 83, formerly of Lowell, died Oct. 14, 2010, at her residence. Mrs. McAllister was a native of Winston-Salem, daughter of the late Sterling and Lessie Starnes Minter and late husband of 40 years, John W. "Jake" McAllister. She was a graduate of Lenoir Rhyne College and taught in the Gaston County School system for 33 years. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at Gaston Memorial Park with the Rev. James DuMond, officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia. Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park. Survivors include her son, John McAllister, Lt. Col. USAF, Ret. and wife Paula of Bonaire, GA; daughters, Pat Carpenter and husband Rick of Greenville, TN, JoAnn Wirtel and husband Bernie of Concord; grandchildren, David Carpenter, Marla Carpenter, Melanie Carpenter, Cara Carpenter, Brad McAllister, Trevor McAllister, Madisen Wirtel, Ben Wirtel and great grandchild, Ava Echard. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081-5784. Condolences may be sent online to www.mcleanfuneral.com.
