  Notes	From findagrave.com: Irene Minter Powell March 24, 1926 - December 25, 2012 Irene Minter Powell, 86, passed away Tuesday evening, December 25, 2012, at Morehead Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Powell was born March 24, 1926 in Henry County, VA, daughter of the late Tommy Joe Minter and Myrtle Bray Minter. She was a member of Words of Life Chapel in Axton, VA. She is survived by her three sons, Leroy W. Powell of Ridgeway, VA, Eugene W. Powell of Reidsville and Edward R. Powell of Eden; daughter, Shirley Overby of Eden, a granddaughter whom she raised as a daughter, Sue Dixon of Martinsville, VA and her children.; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a number of great-great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Inman of Cascade, VA; and brother, Clifton Minter of Axton, VA; In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raleigh Harrison Powell, daughter, Mable M. Powell a granddaughter, Rose Marie Pulliam; one sister, and five brothers. The family will receive friends Friday evening, 6 - 8 PM at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of Shirley Overby in Eden. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, December 29, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens in Danville, VA.
