Born on March 6th, 1933 in Elbert, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late H. Audrey and Maidria Reynolds. For 39 years, she was married to her husband, Charles Ray Minter who passed away December 13, 2011. She was preceded in death by her son, Harold Reynolds "Rennie" Houck. Anita graduated from Gary High School in Gary, W.Va., attended the University of Kentucky and graduated from National Business College in Roanoke. Anita was an active member of St. Marks United Methodist Church in Daleville where she served on the Shepherding Committee. She retired from State Farm Insurance after 33 years of employment. In addition, Anita was a member of the Eastern Star. She loved to play piano, travel and cook. Above all, she loved to spend time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. Anita is survived by two daughters, LaVern Houck Flora (Richard) of Roanoke, and Pamela Minter Kraus (James) of Syracuse, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Dana Baird Turner (Tyler), and Bo Davis, both of Roanoke, Theresa Goad (Brandon) of Spotsylvania, Kevin Masse (Michael) of New York City, Nicholas W. Wilson of Portland, Maine, Terrill Flora (Lisa) of Roanoke and Kristin F. Garber (Brian) of Acworth, Ga.; four great-grandchildren, Everly Turner, Isabella Goad, Michelle F. Carter and Easton Garber; together with many greatly loved extended family and friends. A service celebrating Anita's life will be held, Friday, January 15, 2016 at 4 p.m.at St. Marks United Methodist Church, 19 Cedar Ridge Dr., Daleville, VA with the Reverend Rob Lough officiating. Family will receive friends prior to the service, at 3 p.m.
