  Notes	July 2010: A record at Findmypast shows that Donald M and Celia M Minter (birth dates given as 22.12.1928 and 16.5.1929 respectively) departed from Southampton aboard the 'Boschfontein' for Mombasa, Kenya on 13 March 1956, travelling 1st Class. Their UK address was 29B Ravensbourne Road, Bromley, Kent; Donald was a Medical Entomologist, Celia, a Housewife. The record indicates an intention to remain in Kenya but both died in the UK so cannot have stayed there. September 2025: There are several references online to Donald Martin Minter. Thie following, found on The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (https://www.lshtm.ac.uk) website explains why he was in Africa. It is extracted from an article of 15 June 2023 by Becky Darnill: "As part of my Archives and Records Management course at UCL, I undertook a two-week placement with the archive team at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. I was given the opportunity to create a catalogue structure for a collection of papers recently donated to the archive. The papers belonged to Dr. Donald Minter, an entomologist who taught and researched at LSHTM from 1964 until his retirement in the early 1990s. His principal research fields were in Kenya examining sandflies and tsetse flies in relation to sleeping sickness and Chagas disease in Brazil. Interestingly there has recently been a conference at LSHTM on the neglect of Chagas disease in the UK, which highlights the potential significance that Minter's collection may have in connection to this disease."
