  Notes	From findagrave.com, Dec 2014: Bessie Minter Keatts, 83, formerly of 1251 Cascade Road, Cascade, died Wednesday, June 25, 2003, in Danville Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug. 26, 1919, in Martinsville, a daughter of the late Harvey Eugene Minter and Essie Jane Dove Minter. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Landon Archer Keatts, in 1996; a brother, Ronnie Minter; and a grandson, Keith McMillon. A resident of Cascade for 60 years, she had been a patient at Piney Forest Health Care Center since September 2001. She previously owned and operated a beauty salon and was a member of Leatherwood Primitive Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Kallam of Danville and Norma Thornton of Richmond; one son, Michael Keatts of Semora, N.C.; two sisters, Vickie Goggins of Martinsville and Evelyn Smith of Collinsville; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Swicegood Funeral Home in Danville with the Rev. Stephen Lamb officiating. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and other times at the home of her son, Michael Keatts, in Semora.
