      The funeral for Ruth Walker Minter, 92, of 1350 Mountain Mist Drive, Martinsville, who died Jan. 6, 2001 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chatham Heights Baptist Church.
      Dr. Michael Hatfield will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
      She was born Jan. 31, 1908 in Clifton Forge, daughter of the late Will Walker and the late Clara Ripley Walker. Also prececing her in death were her husband, Ernest Stephens Minter; a grandson, Lee Elliott; and a number of brothers and sisters.
      Surviving are three daughters, Carla Stephens "Stevie" Minter Smith and Doris Ann Minter Hill, both of Martinsville, and Angeline Minter Glascock of Archdale, N.C.; six grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild.
      The family will receive friends from 7:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. today at Norris Funeral Services in Martinsville and other times at the 1350 Mountain Mist Drive residence.
      Memorials may be made to Chatham Heights Baptist Church, 1235 Chatham Heights, Martinsville, Va. 24112.
      Norris Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.
