Bessie Minter born 8 Jan 1893, father Clifton Minter, 51 Orford Street, was admitted to St Matthew's Voluntary Controlled Primary School, Ipswich on 4 June 1901 (having previously attended a private school) then re-admitted on 3 November 1902. She stayed at St Matthews until 29 May 1903, when she left for London.
1911 census: Bessie Lily, 18, born Peasenhall, Suffolk, was a general servant (domestic) at 240 Upton Lane, Forest Gate (West Ham census district) (12 rooms), the home of Algernon WALLIS and family.
1921 census: Bessie Lily, 26, single, born Peasenhall, Suffolk, a sick nurse with Mrs E SHIPLEY, 216 Shelbourne Road, Bournmouth, lived at 19 St Clement's Road, Bournemouth, Hampshire, the home of Mrs Hannah Elizabeth CLEMENT, who was Bessie's aunt. Also there were Harriet Sophia CLEMENT (Mrs Clement's step-daughter, 46, single, born London, home duties) and Ellen Rose KING (a visitor, 54, single)
