Services for Edward Foye Bush, 71, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Highland Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Staton officiating and Paul Enger assisting.
Masonic graveside services will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Plainview under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
He died on Friday, Oct. 27, 2000, in Covenant Medical Center.
He was born on March 2, 1929, in Dennison. He attended Plainview and Hale Center Schools. He was a FHA Sweetheart and served as class officer. He moved to Lubbock in 1952. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church for 28 years.
He served in the U.S. Air Force in Roswell, N.M., at Walker Air Force Base as sergeant during the Korean War, working on B-52 bombers. He later joined the Air Force Reserve at Reese Air Force Base and Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth.
He was a forerunner in the automotive air-conditioning business in Lubbock and opened A-1 Auto Air Conditioning later known as Ed Bush Auto Air. He was a private pilot for more than 50 years and held past memberships in the Civil Air Patrol and the Aircraft Owners & Pilot Association.
He was a past member of the Lubbock Lions Club and served as "Happy The Clown." He was a Past Worshipful Master of the Yellowhouse Masonic Lodge #841 AF&AM and served as chaplain. He was a Past District Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Texas in District 93A. He was a member and Past Patron in the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a Past Master of all York Rite Bodies. He was 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Khiva Shrine Temple. He received the Golden Trowel Award, which is the highest honor in Masonry.
Survivors include a son, Ted of Lubbock; three daughters, Lisa Cox of Shallowater, and Lana Navarro and Libby Langley, both of Lubbock; six brothers, Philip of Lubbock, Bill of Dallas, Gayle of Seminole, George of Cedar Park, Jimmy Dan of Miami, Okla., and Bobby Johnson of Vallejo, Calif.; two sisters, Margaret Eastwood of Oklahoma and Bettye Myers of Corpus Christi; and nine grandchildren.
The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to Scottish Rite Children's Hospital or the Scottish Rite School of Dyslexia.
