Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Frances de Sales Cemetery No. 2. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Jean Beard Jarnagin Minter of Gray; four sons, Dan Minter and wife, Melissa, of Houma, Carl Minter Jr. and wife, Patty. of Houma, Jonathan Minter of Houma and Les Minter and wife, Julie, of Lafayette; two daughters, Debra Freeman and husband, Tom, of Houma and Sandy Minter of Lockport; one brother, Jim Minter of Houston; two sisters, Patsy Barras of Houston and Catherine Arceneaux of Carencro; nine grandchildren, Velvet Duplechain, Danny Minter, T.J. Freeman, Kristi Minter, Wesley Minter, Amanda Minter, Ashleigh Minter, Kati Thibodeaux and Tiffanie Thibodeaux; and one great-grandchild, Madison Duplechain. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia Dupre Minter; his parents, Clifford Bernard Minter and Gladys Hatfield Minter; and one sister, Frances Hawthorne. He was founder and former president of Delta Inspection Co. and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
