  Notes	Birth was announced in the Wainwright Star (thanks to Mike Minter for this information). Mike sent me Fran's obituary soon after she died. She was Mike's eldest sister. SAVAGE, Fran (Granny) Peacefully passed away on the morning of January 20, 2017 at Sunrise Senior Living. She was born in Wainwright, Alberta, on July 30, 1936. She is predeceased by: her loving husband Lyle, her parents Frank and May Minter, brother Rob and Herb. Fran is survived by: her children Mark (Polla), Bruce and Cheryl, grandchildren Kyle, Breann, Ava and great-granddaughter Parker, sisters Margaret, Doris and Joan (Dave), brothers Phil (Leslie), Mike (Norma), sisters-in-law Pam and Margaret and many nieces and nephews. Fran would do anything for anyone. While raising her family, she also had many other loves including: her well-known garden, the ball park, Girl Guides and Saanich Fair. She did it all and loved every minute of it! You always knew where she was by her signature laugh. She loved her family and will be sadly missed. Special thanks to the staff at Sunrise Senior Living, Dr. Kelly and Dr. Buie. Thinking of you with love. A private family service, by request, will be held at a later date.

  	Newspaper report of the wedding (supplied by Mike Minter, Canada, May 2007): There was a large gathering in the parish church of All Saints, Mendham, on Wednesday, at the wedding of Mr Frank Minter of Wainwright, Alberta, Canada and Miss May Hadingham, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs Herbert William Hadingham of Middleton Hall. The vicar (the Rev. C R Scholes) officiated. Mrs M A Warnes was at the organ and while the guests were assembling played Simper's 'Meditation'. The hymn 'Lead us Heavenly Father, lead us', and the 67th. psalm were sung. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a spring costume of dove grey and hat to tone. The bridesmaid was Miss Doris Hadingham (bride's sister) whose costume and hat were of powder blue. A reception was held at the bride's home, after which, Mr & Mrs Minter left for London, en route to their new home in Canada.

Also to Miss Margaret Minter and Mr. John Jones. Their double wedding was held at St. Michaels and All Angels Church at Victoria, B.C. on Friday, October 7th. Frances and Margaret were former girls of our district. We certainly wish the young couples every happiness.
