    • November 2007: David Booty, a descendant writes:
My 1st cousin x 5 removed Thomas BOOTY married Susannah MINTER. I have not found the marriage record as yet, and they had no children, but she left a very detailed will naming many of her relatives. Details as follows:
Thomas BOOTY C 3 Dec 1770 in Drayton. He was a husbandman, of Hempnall, in 1808. He was a voter (for Walpole and Wodehouse) in the 1835 Poll, at Hempnall. Buried 15 Jun 1836, Horsford, of Hempnall, aged 66.
He was married to Susannah MINTER. She was C, as Susannah MINTOR, 20 Nov 1774, Fritton, the daughter of Samuel MINTOR and Sarah DAN. She died 20 Sep and was buried 28 Sep 1840 at Horsford, from Hempnall, aged 67. Her will was dated 17 Nov 1837 and pr. Norwich 1 Oct 1840 (NCC, 630 Turner). Thomas BOOTY and Susannah MINTER had no known children. She left bequests in her will to a number of members of her husband’s family, including her brother-in-law Edward BOOTY, her husband’s nephew John SELF, and her husband’s nieces Rachel TILLET, Rebecca FARROW and Mary SELF (see below).
[Bequests were also made to Susannah's brothers and sisters:
"I give to my brother Samuel MINTER of Yarmouth in the said County of Norfolk Coal Meter the sum of nineteen pounds and nineteen shillings. To my Sister Sarah ARNOLD of Long Sutton in the County of Lincoln Widow the like sum of nineteen pounds and nineteen shillings. To my brother William MINTER of Kirstead in the said County of Norfolk Husbandman the like sum of nineteen pounds and nineteen shillings. • From David Booty, November 2008: ... unexpected discovery, found while transcribing the Howe with Little Poringland AT’s for FreeREG:

Thomas BUTY of this parish Bachelor & Susanna MINTER of the same were married in this Church by Banns this thirtieth Day of October, in the year one thousand seven hundred & ninety four by me Thomas BARLING Rector

This marriage was solemnized between us Thomas BUTY X his mark Susanna BUTY (sic)

In the presence of William PILGRIM X his mark Thomas FEEK X his mark

As Thomas could not read or write, and neither of them came from Howe, it is not surprising his name was spelled wrongly.
