  Notes	From findagrave.com, Dec 2014: George Blanton Minter Sr., 76, of Rocky Mount died Saturday, August 2, 2003 at his residence. Born in Henry County on July 11, 1927, he was the son of the late Luther M. Minter and the late Maggie Kasey Minter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Lee Thomasson; and three brothers, Willard Clifford Minter, Luther William Minter and William Buchannan Minter. He served as a medic for the U. S. Army during W.W. II. He was a retired maintenance foreman at a mirror plant in Strathmore, Calif., and was a member of Fort Trial Christian Church. Surviving are a daughter, Dorothy Griffin of Henry; a son, George B. Minter Jr., of Marrero, La.; six sisters, Ruth Boswell of Bassett, Foster Harris of Collinsville, Thelma Durham and Jo Ann Jarrett, both of Bassett, Betty Scott of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., and Carol Koger of Bassett; and two grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fort Trial Christian Church in Bassett, with Minister Marshall McCrickard officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Henry Memorial Park.
