  Notes	1861 census: at Mill Cottage, Wickham Market, Suffolk (all KEEBLE), George (head, 28, ag lab, born Hacheston, Suffolk), Eliza (wife, ??, born Ufford, Suffolk), Walter W (son, 2, born Wickham Market, Suffolk) and William (son, 9 months, born Wickham Market, Suffolk) 1871 census: in Heffers Lane, Wickham Market, Suffolk (all KEEBLE, children all born Wickham Market), George (head, 37, ag lab, born Hacheston, Suffolk), Eliza (wife, 36, dressmaker, born Ufford, Suffolk, lame from birth), Walter W (son, 12, farm boy), William (son, 10, farm boy), Emma (daughter, 9, scholar), Arthur (son, 7, scholar), Charles R (son, 4, scholar), Rose E (daughter, 3, scholar) and Edith (daughter, 9 months). 1881 census: in Woodbridge Road, Wickham Market, Suffolk (all KEEBLE, children all born Wickham Market), George (head, 48, ag lab, born Hacheston, Suffolk), Eliza (wife, 46, born Ufford, Suffolk), William (son, 20, labourer), Arthur (son, 17, bricklayer labourer), Charles (son, 14, bricklayer labourer), Rose E (daughter, 13, scholar) and Florence E (daughter, 7, scholar). Also a boarder, Robert H CLODD (3?, born Wickham Market). It's clear that George and Eliza KEEBLE split up some time before the 1891 census. The catalyst MIGHT have been the birth of Robert H CLODD but I can't trace his birth or any later trace of him. But it's possible that the Eliza CLODD who appeared in the 1891 census (see below) was George's wife. George himself appears to have taken up with a spinster called Hannah PREW. Hannah had five children between 1879 and 1901 and I suspect that George KEEBLE fathered them all. It's almost certain that he was the father of Ellen and Alberta, who were given the second name KEEBLE. In all 5 cases, there's no mother's maiden name on the enhanced birth index. For the time being, I've attributed the five children to George KEEBLE and Hannah PREW, an unmarried couple. 1891 census (1): in Broad Road, Wickham Market, George KEEBLE (married, 58, ag lab, born Hacheston) was a lodger with Hannah PREW (head, single, 35, born Maidstone, Kent) and her 3 children, Robert G PREW (11, scholar, born Wickham Market), Ellen PREW (daughter, 4, born Wickham Market) and Alberta (daughter, 2 months, born Wickham Market). 1891 census (2): it's possible that George's wife was living at 102 Forest Lane, West Ham, Essex as Eliza CLODD (married, 55, monthly nurse, born Ufford, Suffolk). This was the home of Ephraim ROWLAND, his wife and 2 week-old son. This possible appearance is the last census entry I've found for Eliza. I think her death was probably that registered, aged 93, in West Ham RD in 1928. 1901 census: at 6 Little Lane, Wickham Market, George KEEBLE (indexed as KUBLE by ancestry.com) (married, 67, ag lab, born Hacheston) was a lodger with Hannah PREW (head, single, 44, charwoman, born Maidstone, Kent) and her 3 children, Ellen K PREW (daughter, 15, domestic servant, born Wickham Market), Alberta K PREW (daughter, 10, scholar, born Wickham Market) and Francis J PREW (son, 4, born Wickham Market). 1911 census (1): George KEEBLE (77, widower, formerly a farm labourer, born Hacheston, Suffolk) was one of the 163 people in the Plomesgate Union Workhouse at Wickham Market. 1911 census (2): having apparently forsaken George KEEBLE, Hannah PREW married John KENT in Q4 1903 but it appears he died before the 1911 census, because the following entry probably refers to Eliza: in Wickham Market (3 rooms), Hannah KENT (55, widow, 5 children all living, nurse, born Maidstone, Kent) and Robert Donald FRASER (56, widower, 1 child living, 6 dead, plumber, painter & glazier, born Hyderabad, India).
