Alfred and Florence Beatrice appeared in the 1918 Register of Electors (copy at Essex Records Office), living at Tye Green, Great Horkesley. 1921 census: in Tye Green, Great Horkesley, Essex (all MINTER) Alfred (head, 30y 3m, married, born Great Horkesley, horseman with Herbert Page, farmer of Ridgnalls, Great Horkesley), Florence Beatrice (wife, 39y 2m, married, born Somerton, Suffolk, home duties) and Gerald Richard (son, 6y 1m, born Great Horkesley, part time school). Alfred and Florence Beatrice appeared in the 1929 Register of Electors for Great Horkesley (copy at Essex Records Office), lving in Tye Green Great Horkesley. 1939 Register - in Holly Lane , Lexden and Winstree R.D., Essex Minter, Alfred born 30 Mar 1891, married, horseman of farm (heavy wa[gon?]) Minter Florence B born 21 Apr 1882, unpaid domestic duties When I visited Great Horkesley in May 2003 I spoke to David May, publisher of some books of photos of Great Horkesley, who had lived in GH since 1947. He told me he used to know Alf Minter and his son Dick, and was at school with Dick's son Jeffrey. Alf lived near the Post Office in a little wooden house. His wife was very deaf. Dick used to live in Trevill, Coach Road (I couldn't find it) and worked at Severalls as an electrician. Jeffrey would now be about 66 and had 3 sons. August 2007: Ivan Minter adds: Alfred Minter lived near the post office after his retirement. During his working life he lived in a tied cottage, either Holly Cottage or a cottage in Holly Lane. Dick's address is correct in Coach Road. Probate Ipswich 8 Sep 1969 £3845.
