| Notes |
- In 1881 Thomas was living with his parents and working as an agricultural labourer.
In 1891 Thomas (recorded as William) (25, agricultural labourer) and Esther (23), together with Harriet GENTRY (visitor, married, 47, born West Bergholt [probably Esther's mother]) lived at Barrack Yard Cottage, Main Road, Greta Horkesley.
In 1901 Thomas (again recorded as William) (34, a farm horseman) and his wife Esther (32) were living at Crown Cottage, Great Horkesley with 4 children, George O. (12), Percy A. (7), Sidney (4) and Annie (2). Their son Alfred (10) was living with his grandmother Sarah Ann at 36 Hall Lane, Great Horkesley.
Percy Allen Minter was born Q. Mar 1894 (Lexden 4a/651). It isn't clear whether this is the same person as the Alan Minter shown on Neil Minter's chart: the name is spelt differently and the ages do not tally (Alan Minter's date of birth is shown on Neil's chart as 1897).
Annie Minter is not shown on Neil Minter's chart. She was born in either Q. Mar 1899 (Lexden 4a/756) or Q. Jun 1899 (Lexden 4a/748). She died aged 3 in Q. Dec 1902 (Lexden 4a/417).
1911 census: at Crown Cottage, Great Horkesley, Essex (5 rooms), Thomas W (head, 45, married, horseman on farm, employed, born Great Horkesley, Essex), Esther (wife, 43, married 23 years, 8 children, 7 living, 1 died, born West Bergholt, Essex), Alfred (son, 20 single, horseman, employed, Great Horkesley, Essex), Percy A (son, 17, single, horseman, employed, Great Horkesley, Essex), Sidney (son, 14, labourer on farm, employed, Great Horkesley, Essex), Harry (son, 9, scholar, Great Horkesley, Essex), Charles (son, 6, scholar, Great Horkesley, Essex), William (son, 1, Great Horkesley, Essex) and George Henry (brother, 53, single, horseman on farm, Great Horkesley, Essex)
Form signed by Esther Minter.
Thomas William and Esther appeared in the 1918 Register of Electors (copy at Essex Records Office) living at Nevards Farm, Great Horkesley.
1921 census: at Ellis Farm, Boxted, Essex (all MINTER), Thomas William (head, 55y 8m, born Boxted, Essex, married, ploughman for A Sexton, market gardener, Boxted), Esther (wife, 52y 2m, married, born Boxted, Essex, home duties), Percy Allen (son, 27y 4m, single, born Boxted, Essex, disabled ex-soldier), Sidney (son, 23y 11m, single, born Boxted, Essex, farm labourer with A Bromley, farmer of Great Horkesley, Essex), Charles Ernest (son, 16y 3m, born Boxted, Essex, farm labourer with A Sexton, market gardener, Boxted) and William (son, 11y 10m, born Boxted, Essex, whole time school).
