| Notes |
- 1881 census (indexed as MINTON): age given as 19, a servant at 1 Clifton Terrace, Prittlewell, Southend, Essex.
1891 census: at 10 Overcliff, Gravesend, Kent, Sarah (26, cook, born South Wales, 'Brent Hatton' - probably an interpretation of Prestatyn). Also acting as a servant (housemaid) was Eliza BRADD, 31, who married Sarah's brother William James in 1889. For some reason both Sarah and Eliza were shown as single although both were married.
