He was born on July 8, 1915, in Patrick Springs, Va., a son of the late Bud and Allie Clark. He was a member of First Wesleyan Church and a retired Builder/Contractor. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Joseph (Joe) Clark, Dal Clark, Manion Clark, Russell Clark, and George Clark. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Dorothy Clark; two sons, William David Clark and wife, Carol, and Glenn D. Clark and wife, Sally; five grandchildren, Matthew Clark and wife, Kristy, Ben Clark and wife, Diana, Luke Clark and wife Arianne, Andrea C. Shore and husband, Rob, and Jacob Clark and wife, Carmen; nine greatgrandchildren; five sisters, Annie Sue Hawks, Della Hawks, Mae Martin, Dorothy Mills, and Martha Hutchens; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, 2010, at Oakey's East Chapel with Dr. Steve Wingfield, Dr. Kenneth Foutz, the Rev. Brian Custer, and Pastor Paul Haithcock officiating. Interment will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2010, at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 20, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the funeral at Oakey's East Chapel, 540-977-3909.
