The listings in the 1880 and 1893 editions of Kelly's Directory for Henry Robert Minter, firewood dealer, 94 & 95 Railway Arches, Deptford, London SE probably relate to this person.
Lloyds Weekly Newspaper reported on 16 June 1889 that Susan Keeper of St James Place, Church Street, Deptford appeared in court at Greenwich charged with assaulting Henry Robert Minter of Church Street. The following is taken from the report:
"The summons arose out of the Deptford poisoning cases. On Monday week there was was a large mob in Church Street, when Mrs Frost was set upon and 'floured'. She sought shelter in a wood-chopping shed belonging to the complainant [Henry Robert Minter]. Mr Minter afterwards went to the Robin Hood for a glass of ale, when the defendant [Susan Keeper] followed him out and threw some beer over him." ... Mr Minter said "She said to him 'Harry Minter, if you are a man have that woman out.'"
The defendant was bound over to keep the peace.
The interest in this story is the link with a famous case of the late 1880s in which Mrs Amelia Winter or Winters and her daughter Elizabeth Frost were found guilty of murdering three people. It's unclear what is meant by the reference above that Henry Robert Minter should 'have that woman out' but perhaps she was lodging with him or at a house in Church Street owned by him. Mrs Winter's and Mrs Frost's address was given in court as 153 Church Street.
