  Notes	From findagrave.com, Jan 2015: The funeral for Lorene Minter Mattox, 81, of the Stanleytown Health Care Center and formerly of Martinsville, who died Aug. 25, 2010, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Starling Avenue Baptist Church. Dr. David Adkins will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. before the service Saturday and other times at the home of her daughter Norma Stone, 103 Elder Court, Martinsville. She was born in Draper, N.C., on June 22, 1929, to James Boyd Minter and Daisy Minter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard E. Mattox; a sister, Hazel Irene Minter; and a brother, J. Clyde Minter. She graduated from Draper High School and Perry Business School, then was a secretary for the Henry County ASC Office for 35 years. She was a member of Starling Avenue Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir and Women's Missionary Union. She also had served as church clerk and as a Sunday school teacher. Surviving are two daughters, Loretta Robertson and Norma Stone, both of Martinsville; one son, Randy Mattox of Eden, N.C.; a sister, Helen M. Naff of Bassett; a brother, J. Melvin Minter of Chesapeake; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Starling Avenue Baptist Church, 932 Starling Ave., Martinsville, Va. 24112. Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Homes, Martinsville Chapel, is handling arrangements.
